Get ready to use your DSLR the way it is meant to be used. In this workshop you will learn the basic functions of your camera taking you from Automatic to Manual. You will learn about ISO and why it is important, Aperture for your creativity and Shutter Speed for crisp images. These three key pieces go together to capture amazing images and you will leave the workshop knowing how to change these and why. We will also touch briefly on Composition and Finding the Light giving you the tools you need to go out start shooting.

Portrait photography can sometimes be intimidating, but with a little practice, the right tools and a little creativity, anyone can improve on their portraits. In this session, photographers will learn how to recognize good light, communicate with their subject and develop basic technical and aesthetic skills to improve their portraits. This session is ideal for anyone looking to improve their portrait skills, but lack the confidence to direct others. Attendees will learn to use themselves as their main subject to practice and hone their skills as they develop an eye for portraiture.
